Hey there! By placing an order with Cake Date, you’re agreeing to the terms outlined below. I want to make sure we’re both on the same page so your big event goes as smoothly (and deliciously!) as possible.

1. Quotes & Booking Fee

Quote Validity: Quotes are valid for 30 days. If accepted after 30 days, pricing may be subject to change.

Securing Your Date: To hold your date in our calendar, a non-refundable booking fee/deposit  ($300 or 30% of the total order, whichever is higher) is required via bank transfer, or credit card.

Why it’s non-refundable: This fee locks in your date so we turn down other bookings for that time, reserving our schedule just for you!

2. Final Payment

Payment Due Date: Your remaining balance is due in full 14 days prior to your event date.

Non-Payment: We can’t start baking until full payment is received. If we’re unable to reach you or receive payment by the due date, your order may unfortunately be cancelled.

3. Cancellations, Date Changes & Postponements

Cancellations 90+ days out: If you cancel in writing at least 90 days before your event date, your booking fee/deposit remains non-refundable, but any additional balance paid may be refunded (minus costs for any special items or ingredients already purchased for your order).

Cancellations under 90 days: Because we reserve time and resources for your order, cancellations within 90 days of your event date are non-refundable.

Rescheduling: Need to move your date? We’ll happily transfer your booking to a new date if we’re available! If we’re booked out on your new date and can’t accommodate it, standard cancellation terms apply. Rescheduled dates may also reflect periodic updated pricing.

4. Refunds & Dissatisfaction

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Cake Date. We do not offer refunds for change of mind.

We take huge pride in our work! In the rare event that there is a major issue with your order, please notify us and return a sample of the product and photographic proof within 24 hours of the event so we can work together on a fair resolution. 

5. Cake Design & Changes

Creative Freedom: While we work closely with your brief and inspiration photos, custom baking is an art! Minor variations in colour or design may happen—especially due to weather/humidity or supplier availability for specific decorative items.

Design Changes: We love bringing your vision to life, but excessive design alterations or second consultations after booking will incur a $60 alteration fee

6. Delivery vs. Pick-Up

Delivery: If delivery is included, we’ll handle setup at your venue with utmost care. Once delivered and set up, responsibility for the cake transfers to the venue/client. We cannot be held liable for damage caused by heat, direct sunlight, or venue accidents after we've left. We will do everything we can to mitigate this. 

Pick-Up: If you choose to pick up your order, responsibility transfers to you once it leaves our hands.

Pro Pick-Up Tips: Place the box flat on the floor/footwell of your car (never on a tilted seat!), put the non-slip mat provided under the cake and blast the air conditioner! Never leave a cake sitting in a warm car.

7. Storage & Care

Our treats are baked fresh and taste best on the day of your event!

We’ll give you specific storage instructions when you collect/receive your order (e.g., whether to chill it or keep it at cool room temperature).

8. Flower & Decor Hire

If your cake requires  flowers, we can source them, or your florist can provide them directly to us.

Any hired display stands, cake toppers, or special props will be itemised on your quote and must be returned within 7 days. If you have paid a bond, this will be returned to you once we receive the hired item. 

9. Allergies & Dietary Info

Allergen Notice: Our kitchen regularly handles dairy, wheat/gluten, eggs, soy, nuts, and other allergens. While we take cleaning and food safety seriously, we cannot guarantee a 100% allergen-free environment.

Please inform us of any allergies when ordering, and ensure your guests/venue are aware of potential allergen risks. We take extra caution for nut allergies in particular. Cake Date cannot be held liable for allergic reactions.

10. Photography & Social Media

We love showing off our creations! Cake Date reserves the right to photograph your cake and use images on our website, social media, and marketing materials. (If you share professional event photos with us, we'll always ask permission and credit your photographer!)
