My First Bridal Fair

A few weeks ago Cake Date exhibited beautiful wedding cakes at Perth's  First Comes Love bridal fair and to say it was a magical afternoon is an understatement. What a wonderful experience!

Beautiful wedding cakes Perth

Two things were a standout for me. The first would have to have been talking about cake for 4 hours straight. I can't even put into words the joy I got from that. As you may now know, I live for cake. Baking is like breathing for me and having the chance to talk about all things cake for the entire afternoon was like being in heaven.

The other thing that made the day truly magical was all the love at the event. Meeting couples, their family and friends was so inspiring and it really reinforced for me what life is all about- LOVE.

First Comes Love. Wedding cakes

I took 5 wedding cake design to the fair. Gold was definitely a theme in my display with marble and water colour also featuring.

I love the simplicity of this design. Hand painting is something very new for me and my first attempt was just a little ugly. As they say "practice makes perfect" I softened the colour palette and the result was something soft and quite beautiful. This fondant wedding cake is really understated and would suit a garden wedding or even a birthday perfectly.

I also met some amazing wedding creatives. Daniel from Foote and Flame came to personally introduce himself and I am so, so glad he did. footeandflame.com.au do the most gorgeous personalised cake  toppers as well as so many other fantastic personalised product. I can't wait to get a wedding cake topper made for Cake Date!

A big thank you to the brilliant photographers from the First Comes Love fair. Amelia Claire, Lifa Wall and Sarah Hannigan.
